Privacy Policy

This page explains what happens to your information when you visit interac-casinos.ca. We keep it short where we can and specific where it matters. If you use this site, you are agreeing to the practices described below. If anything here does not sit right with you, the right move is to stop using the site — not to send us an angry email and keep browsing anyway.

Who We Are

The entity responsible for the personal information described in this policy is:

Interac Casinos Canada
Website: interac-casinos.ca
Privacy contact: [email protected]

We are an independent informational website. We are not a casino, we do not operate games, and we do not hold player funds. We compare Interac casinos available to Canadian players and link out to them. That distinction matters for this policy because it shapes what data we actually touch.

What Information We Collect

We collect two kinds of information: information you give us on purpose, and information that gets collected automatically when you browse.

Information you give us directly:

  • Your email address if you contact us through our contact form or write to [email protected]
  • Any details you include in that message — questions, feedback, correction requests, complaints
  • Your name, if you choose to sign your message

We do not ask for your date of birth, your banking information, your Interac account details, your casino login credentials, or any government identification. If someone claiming to be us asks you for those things, it is not us.

Information collected automatically:

  • IP address (usually truncated or anonymized before storage)
  • Browser type and version, device type, operating system
  • Pages you visit on our site and how long you spend on them
  • Referring URL (where you came from before landing here)
  • Approximate location based on IP — typically country and province level, not your street
  • Cookie identifiers set by our analytics and affiliate tracking tools

Why We Collect It

We use the information above for a narrow set of reasons:

  • To run the website. Basic technical data keeps pages loading and helps us spot broken links or server issues.
  • To understand what is useful. Aggregated analytics tell us which comparison pages and guides Canadian players actually read, so we can improve them.
  • To track affiliate referrals. When you click through to a casino from our site, our affiliate partners record that a referral happened so we get paid if you sign up. This is how the site stays free.
  • To answer you. If you email us, we use your address to reply.
  • To meet legal obligations. If a Canadian regulator or law enforcement makes a lawful request, we comply.
  • To prevent abuse. We monitor for scrapers, spam, and attempts to compromise the site.

Canadian privacy law — primarily the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) at the federal level, and provincial laws such as Quebec's Law 25, British Columbia's PIPA, and Alberta's PIPA — requires us to have a lawful reason for handling your information. Ours are:

  • Consent. You agree to analytics and affiliate cookies when you continue browsing past our cookie notice. You can withdraw consent at any time (see the Cookies section below).
  • Legitimate interest. Running a functional website, understanding aggregate traffic, and detecting fraud are legitimate business interests that do not override your privacy.
  • Legal obligation. Where Canadian law requires us to keep or disclose information.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use a small number of cookies. None of them are set to spy on you across the web for advertising purposes.

  • Strictly necessary cookies. These keep the site working — remembering your cookie preference, for example. You cannot opt out of these without breaking the site.
  • Analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization turned on. This tells us which pages get read and where visitors come from at an aggregate level. No individual profile is built.
  • Affiliate cookies. When you click a "Play Now" or "Visit Casino" button, an affiliate network drops a cookie so the casino knows the visit came from us. These cookies contain a referral ID and a timestamp — not your name, email, or banking details.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge all have straightforward cookie controls. If you block everything, some parts of the site may not work as intended, but the core content will still load.

Affiliate Links and How They Work

This site earns money through affiliate partnerships with online casinos. When you click a link to a casino and later sign up or deposit, we may receive a commission. You do not pay anything extra for this — the commission comes out of the casino's marketing budget, not your balance.

What the affiliate networks see when you click: a referral identifier, the page you clicked from, the approximate time, and your IP address. What they do not see from us: your name, your email, or anything you have typed into our site. Once you land on the casino's website, that casino's own privacy policy takes over. We have no control over what they collect from you, and we strongly recommend reading their policy before depositing.

When We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. Full stop. We share it only in these specific situations:

  • With service providers. Our web host, analytics provider, and email service process data on our behalf under contracts that limit what they can do with it.
  • With affiliate networks. As described above — a referral ID and click event, not your identity.
  • When legally required. If we receive a valid subpoena, court order, or lawful request from a Canadian authority, we comply. Where permitted, we will try to notify you.
  • In a business transfer. If the site is ever sold or merged, visitor data may transfer to the new owner, who would remain bound by this policy or a comparable one.

Some of our service providers are based in the United States. This means your information may be stored or processed outside Canada. Where that happens, we rely on contractual safeguards and choose providers with recognized privacy frameworks.

How We Protect Your Information

Security measures in place on this site include:

  • HTTPS/TLS encryption for all traffic between your browser and our server
  • Restricted administrative access — only team members who need access have it
  • Regular software updates and patching on our hosting environment
  • No storage of payment information, because we never receive any
  • Internal guidelines for handling any personal data that does reach us

No system is perfectly secure. We take reasonable steps to protect what we hold, but we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised through our site, contact us immediately at [email protected].

How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected:

  • Email correspondence: up to 24 months, then deleted unless there is an ongoing legal reason to keep it
  • Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics 4, then automatically purged
  • Affiliate click data: governed by each affiliate network's retention schedule, typically 30–90 days
  • Server logs: 30–90 days, then rotated

Your Rights Under Canadian Privacy Law

Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy laws, you have the right to:

  • Access. Ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
  • Correction. Ask us to fix anything inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Withdrawal of consent. Withdraw your consent to analytics or affiliate cookies at any time, subject to legal and contractual limits.
  • Deletion. Request that we delete your personal information, where we are not required to keep it.
  • Explanation. Ask how your information has been used and to whom it has been disclosed.
  • Complaint. File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial privacy commissioner.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days, as PIPEDA requires. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.

A Note for Quebec Residents

If you live in Quebec, Law 25 gives you additional rights, including the right to data portability and the right to request that we stop disseminating your personal information. You can also ask for information about how automated decision-making (if any) affects you. We do not currently use automated decision-making on this site, but if that changes, this policy will be updated. To exercise Quebec-specific rights, contact [email protected] and mention Law 25 in your message.

Age Restriction

This site is intended for adults. Online gambling in Canada is restricted to people aged 19 or older in most provinces (18+ in Alberta, Manitoba, and Quebec). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 19. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

International Visitors

This site is aimed at Canadian players. If you are visiting from outside Canada, be aware that your information will be transferred to and processed in Canada and possibly in the United States. By using the site, you consent to that transfer. If your local laws give you stronger rights than PIPEDA, we will honor reasonable requests on a case-by-case basis.

How to File a Complaint

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, start by contacting us directly at [email protected]. Most issues get resolved there. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can escalate to:

Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
30 Victoria Street, Gatineau, Quebec K1A 1H3
Toll-free: 1-800-282-1376
Website: priv.gc.ca

Residents of British Columbia, Alberta, and Quebec can also contact their provincial privacy commissioner.

Changes to This Policy

We update this policy when our practices change or when Canadian privacy law requires it. The current version is always at this URL. If we make a material change — something that affects how we handle personal information — we will note it at the top of the page with the date it took effect. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
